ART WALK
The Art Walk offers students an opportunity to display their creativity and to raise funds for scholarships through auctioning their art. This will be held at the conclusion of the summer SAT prep program
This event is hosted at the Houston Art Center.
This will be a ticketed event. Participants are required to sell at least 2 tickets at $15-20 each. Artist admissions is free and there is a $25 reg fee which will be applied to their scholarship earnings. Goal is to have minimum of 20 artist.
Student art is displayed online 1 day prior to the event where people are able to place a bid on any particular art by the student. This sets the bidding about, and there is a $5 fee. The highest bid amount is displayed at the end of the day.
The highest bid will be the starting bid amount for the Art Walk. Bidders much pay before leaving.
HOW DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP WORK
80% of the proceeds earned from the bid will go towards a scholarship for the artist. 20% will go to HD to be used towards our non traditionals scholarships.
Artist must earn a minimum of $500 before the amount can be turned into scholar dollars.
Artist must enroll in a post secondary institution within two years of graduating high school to receive scholarship. Unclaimed funds will be used to support HD non traditional scholarship.
Scholarship amounts over $1000 can be broken up over 2 semesters and amounts $2000 can be dispursed over 4 semesters and amounts $4000 can be dispursed over semesters.
To receive scholarship student must be in good academic standing and meeting SAP.
Money will be placed in a foundation and any interest earned on the scholarship while holding will be used to fund HD non traditional scholarships. that gives the fundraising potential of $4800 over the course of 4 years.
HOW DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP WORK
Admissions fee= minimum estimated earned is 800 with 20 participants
20% of proceeds earned from bids= minimum earning estimated at $1200
$5 per online bid = $250
$25 registration fee =0 (proceeds go back to student)
estimated minimum funds raised is $2250.

Could potentially have a upscale food truck at event and receive % of earnings.
