PROGRAM MINI-GRANTS
ESSENTIAL PACKAGE FOR COLLEGE
Many college students are struggling with homelessness, food insecurities and buying basic personal care and cleaning items to sustain themselves while at college. The Essential Package will provide cleaning supplies, basic hygiene items such as soap, tooth paste, and toilet paper as well as personal grooming items. Packages may also include plates, food storage, and laundry care items.
Being away at college and studying can be stressful enough that we want to ensure that students do not have to sacrifice or worry about those personal items needed to be comfortable in their college environment.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Must be graduating from a Public Greater Houston-Metropolitan area high school
OR
2. Must be an undergraduate enrolled or planning to
enroll full-time at a four year college or university
during the upcoming school semester.
3. Can live on or off campus in an assigned
dormitory or university apartment or
away from home.
3. Must complete Award Application by
deadline and include the following proof
of attendance: Letter of Acceptance
or proof of enrollment.
Although income and academic
performance is not a requirement,
preference will be given to those who show
the greatest need and those who will attend
schools outside of Houston city limits.
Our Care Packages do not just provide support, but provides encouragement for our students to continue persisting in college. Packages are sent out for Midterm and Finals and is an excellent way for you to show your support during your student's most stressful time. Each package contains snack with an option to send a personalized message to keep your student motivated.
